Is anyone still alive out there?

Post a comment if you want this blog updated regularly? If so, I'll make an effort to do so, though I don't attend BYU-Idaho anymore and I don't even live in Idaho. I do live in New Hampshire and am on the front lines, so to speak.

I check in every now and then just in case, but it looks like the bloggers in the College Dems have moved on and not been replaced. Too bad.

I found this blog today. I was hoping last semester to have an active College Democrat meeting to go to, but, alas, I was disappointed to find nothing. I'm hoping to find people open to discussion. Anyone interested in getting a group started for those of us with liberal views? Not just Democrats, but anyone with progressive ideas?

Jessica-

I have a good idea for a post. Since religion and politics is such a hot topic right now and with Super Tuesday coming up, I thought you may be interested in a film that just came out titled: "Article VI: Faith. Politics. America." The film was directed by Bryan Hall and Jack Donaldson. It is an intense discussion of the role of faith in politics. The title is taken from Article Six of the United States Constitution: "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."

If you haven't seen the trailer I suggest you check it out:

(DVD's just went on sale as well). Let me know what you think!

Hey Everybody!

If you missed the Madison County Democractic Caucus on Super Tuesday, you missed a rockin’ good time. We had over 200 people turn out! If that number doesn’t impress you, keep in mind that at the last caucus in this county we had 36 and we’re infamous as the “reddest county” in the USA. To have that many people turn out is a sign of change to come, I believe.

If you’ve never attended a caucus, try it some time. It is mysterious, interesting, ritualistic, and unifying all at once. And it’s part of the amazing democratic process that makes this country great!

Want to be part of this enthusiasm? Join the BYU-I Democrats for some mind-bending discussions at our Thursday meetings—2 p.m. Thursdays in Smith 131. In the next couple of months we expect to have more faculty and student presentations on current issues. Let your voice be heard—come participate!

Thanks for keeping this site up and running, Peter!
